Dr. Peyton Westlake (Darkman)

OTHER FIGURES -
Ah Darkman, a great classic movie from the mind of Sam Raimi (Evil Dead series), a story about a geek scientist (Dr. Peyton Westlake) turned dark avenger. It's a fun little movie starring Liam Neeson, which went on to spawn a few sequels. The look of Darkman certainly lends well to an action figure and thankfully, SOTA Toys did an outstanding job on this one. It was released in 2004, in the Now Playing line and boasts a great display base and a nice amount of accessories. If you're interested, read on for the rest of the showcase...

I really enjoyed the short lived SOTA Toys Now Playing line, which included a few An American Werewolf in London figures and a great Toxie (Toxic Avenger) figure. Darkman is no less than the others and features a fantastic sculpt and some really well down paint work (loving the dirty trench coat). The figure has articulation in the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrist, waist and ankles. You can get some great poses that mimic the look of the poster and really that's all you can ask for. As for accessories, the figure comes with interchangeable hands (bandaged/non bandaged), alternate burnt head, hat and finally a great girder display base, which goes perfect with the figure.

Not much more can be said, as it's got a great sculpt, paintwork and accessories. Darkman is an interesting look and I love it. It's a shame that SOTA Toys' Now Playing series so quickly went down the drain, but at least we got a great figure with Darkman. Now for a giant helping of photos!
